What Should I Do If....?

Updated: Jun 22, 2022

In my latest attempt to answer all questions before they're actually asked - here are answers to some of Vacations By Jillian's most frequently asked questions.

What should I do if I test positive for covid before my trip?

Contact VBJ so we can get to work rescheduling your trip. If you used an at home test schedule a PCR test with your doctor.

What should I do if I test positive for covid during my trip?

Contact VBJ, and we will help advise. You will likely need to work with the resort you're staying at for quarantine and letter of recovery purposes. Schedule a PCR test with them as well. We also recommend that you contact your insurance agency.

What should I do if I miss my flight?

Head to the nearest airline desk for your airline - at that point they are they fastest access point for rebooking you. You may also be able to change your flight on the airline's app. Contact VBJ so we can contact your transfer company and resort/hotel to let them know you're going to be late

What should I do if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

Get in line with your airline desk, text VBJ so we can get online, and then you should hop on the phone while you're standing in line. The first one of us to get a flight booked wins! If this happens while you're in destination BEFORE you leave your resort or hotel contact VBJ and we'll go from there.

What should I do if I'm having issues with my hotel or resort?

Most of the time, speaking directly with the hotel manager on duty is significantly faster for you to get help as opposed to calling VBJ. If they are able to help, please still let VBJ know so that we can follow up with the manager and thank them for helping. If the issue continues we will jump in, along with our tour operator, to get the situation addressed.

What should I do if I can't find my arrival transfer vehicle?

Double check the information we've included in your packet and in your agency provided App. Often there will be information regarding colors of transfer company, logo, shirts, etc. Look for signs in the airport, and you can always ask official airport workers for help as well. If you still cannot locate them please call the transfer company contact numbers as provided in your trip documents, and on the agency provided App. Contact VBJ if you need further help. Be sure to download WhatsApp prior to departure in case it's needed to contact your transfer company and/or driver.

What should I do if my return transfer is late?

First - don’t panic! They may just be running a bit behind schedule. If you hit the ten minute mark, and they haven’t shown up refer back to any contact information you were given by the transfer company upon arrival, and/or refer back to your VBJ travel docs and App. Contact VBJ if you need still need further assistance.

What should I do if I get sick or injured while on vacation?

If you require immediate medical assistance contact the front desk at your hotel or resort, and they will get you to a clinic or hospital. Contact your insurance agency, and they can give you guidance for your specific situation. Please be aware that you may have to pay up front, and then get reimbursed - so be prepared for that. But again, follow the guidance from your insurance agency. Contact VBJ to keep us informed.

What should I do if my wallet is lost or stolen?

Contact the front desk to see if anyone has turned it in. Report stolen items to the police immediately. Contact financial institutions to put a hold on all of your credit cards. Contact your insurance company. Contact VBJ to keep us informed.

What should I do if I lose my passport while on vacation?

Double check your luggage, safe, and anywhere else it might be. Check with the front desk to make sure it hasn't been turned in. If it is truly gone you'll need to contact the nearest US embassy or Consulate. You'll also need a new passport photo. Contact VBJ, and we can send you a photo of your passport which will help at the consulate or embassy - we should have it on file.

What should I do if there's an emergency at home, and I need to leave immediately?

Contact VBJ so we can assist you. Contact your insurance company to let them know what's going on, and follow any instructions they give you.
